Going from couch potato to stunt woman isn’t going to happen without a little effort. Be sure to make an habit out of adventuring and getting adrenaline kicks. Take the time each and every week to do something out of the ordinary. Whatever that might mean to you.
On my quest to become an adventurous person – and not just talking about how I’d want to go on more adventures – I made a decision that Saturday would be equal to adventureday. So starting from a couple of weeks back, Saturdays wont be wasted on work or chilling. So far I’ve been to a national park and a vegan festival – next time there will be a long bikeride on the countryside with picnic.
Some ideas to get you started
To find things to do there are a lot of help, first begin by checking the list below, then you might want to go to websites such as Couchsurfing, Meetup and Airbnb Experiences as well as checking apps where people get to rate places they’ve been.
Go kayaking in an idyllic setting
Preferably somewhere where the view is breathtaking. Check this post for more about kayaking!
Go on a chocolate tour
You can do this in your nearest city with at least a few chocolate stores by yourself, or you could do chocolate tasting. In Amsterdam one woman offers a chocolate tour in her very cute Fiat, which is on my list of to do’s!
Go on a guided tour in a castle
Walk alone in a castle, or on a guided tour to get the most out of it. Better yet if the castle is haunted, which for some reason many castles seem to be.
Go surfing somewhere close
Not everyone will be able to do this. There just isn’t enough waves to fill every corner of the world. But many unexpected places do have this available, you don’t have to go to a tropical island just to stand on a surfboard.
Go on a yoga day
Sometimes you can find whole weekends dedicated to yoga, sometimes a day, and sometimes it’s in the middle of some other activity. I’ve found yoga weekends nearby, and yoga on boats on the canals of Amsterdam by doing a simple search online.
Take an art lesson
Maybe you want to try croquis, or if naked bodies intimidate you – go for abstract art. Why not ceramics, body painting or something else that makes you super excited? I’ve seen artists offering lessons for small groups in their own studies and it looks so cozy!
Go to an adventure park
There are parks when you can climb up in trees and glide down rails in the forest. Then there are parks where you can jump on trampolines inside. Both are fun – you choose what works best for you.
Go camping in the forest
This one might need some research on your part, but camping can be so much fun! Go with friends and a tent. Bring food, hiking clothes and knowledge of how to cook outdoors with you and you’re ready to go.
